Romanowski left the Broncos after the 2001 season and played for the Raiders in 2002, starting all 16 regular season games and helping them to a spot in Super Bowl XXXVII. He played in only three games in 2003 before missing the rest of the season due to concussions. He retired after the 2003 season.
