Shellacked autographed baseballsYears ago it was a common practice to shellac the Baseball to protect the signatures. This practice stopped when it was realized that the balls would turn yellow, crack, and peal off. With some of the earliest signed baseballs, the value is not hurt as much as with newer balls because the Autographs are rare. The Shellac on any baseball will hurt the value depending on the degree of coating and the rarity of the signature. Modern day signature will loose most of it's value if not all because they are more available..

What is the value of a autographed 1987 Topps traded Greg Maddux rookie card number 70T?

Greg Maddux Signed Rookie CardA Greg Maddux autographed baseball card is worth between $20. -$30. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature. Signatures that have not been authenticated could sell at half the market value or less. The Rookie card could add some value to the signature but, if the collectors value of the card grows in the future it will be lost to the value of the signature. In general, collectors of baseball cards would rather have a baseball card without the signature. The signature would be considered as a flaw in the condition of the card and will lower the value. If the signature has a lower value than the card it will lower the value of the card. The un-signed card will have a higher value.

How much is a Ted Williams autographed Sears Roebuck baseball worth and how much more is it worth with a COA and the original box the ball came in?

The Sears & Roebuck baseball would be a collectible by itself, and the value would vary depending on the age of the baseball. Regardless of the value of the baseball as a collectible, once the baseball is signed by a player the bulk of the value will rely on the value of the signature. The value of the baseball as a collectible is lost to the signature. The signature would be considered as a flaw in the condition of the baseball, and a collector of vintage baseballs will not pay the full collectors value with the signature. The collectible baseball then becomes an item to display the signature, and the signature is the collectible. In this case, the Ted Williams signature will have a much higher value than the collectible Sears & Roebuck baseball. A Ted Williams single signed baseball is worth between $350.-$600. The Sears & Roebuck baseball could add some value to the signature, making it more desirable. Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the baseball. Signatures that have not been properly authenticated could sell at half the market value or less. Add for inscriptions. The most desired baseball for a signature would be a baseball made during the players career, and of the same League. Because of the connection Ted Williams had with Sears & Roebuck the baseball could be of equal value. Keep in mind that a collector of baseballs will display the Manufacturer stamping on the ball, and a collector of autographs will display the signature, making the Manufacturer stamping secondary. The box will have added value but to the baseball collector, and not as much to the autograph collector. The Condition of the signature, and the accompanying C.O.A. that you have will dictate the bulk of the value.

What is the value of a baseball bat signed by Ernie banks?

A Ernie Banks signed photo is worth between $50.-$75. Price will vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature. Photo composition, and appealwill effect the price as well. Part of the value will be determined by how well the photo displays the signature. The type of ink used, and how it stands out in contrast to the photograph will also effect the price. Sharpie would be most preferred for a photo. Larger and more desired pictures could sell for more. If the signatures are not properly authenticated the photo could sell at half the market value or less.

1992 Yankees yearbook signed by ken griffey jr?

Ken Griffey Jr. signed 1992 Yankees yearbookOnce the Yankees yearbook is signed (on the cover) The collectors value is lost to the value of the signature. A Yankees yearbook would also make a poor item to have signed by Ken Griffey Jr. as he never played for them. A Ken Griffey Jr. signed Yankees yearbook is worth about $30.-$50. If the signature is on the inside it could be valued as a cut signature and the most of the value of the yearbook could be restored ($10.00 - $15.00) The Ken Griffey Jr. cut signature would be worth about $15.00 -$20.00. Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature. Signatures that have not been properly authenticated could sell at half the market value or less. Add for inscriptions.

What is the value of a 1997 SAMS Derek Jeter limited edition bobbing head doll autographed with certificate of authenticity?

The value of a collectible is based on average prices of recently closed auctions and sales prices. Because of the rarity of your Derek Jeter signed bobble head (100 made) I cannot find any auctions or sales to help you with a value. I could only give you my opinion based on similar items. Rarity does not make an item more valuable unless the number made is far less than the number of collectors in the market for that item. The Derek Jeter signature will hold the bulk of the value over the collectible bobble head therefore the money would be spent by someone interested in a Derek Jeter autograph. Signed baseballs are the most common, and preferred by collectors because of it's connection to the game, low cost, availability and it displays the signature well. The signed baseball represents the average price for a signature, and by deducting or adding from this price for the Item signed accordingly will give you a good idea on value. A Derek Jeter single signed baseball is worth about $300.-$500. depending on the the strength of the signature and the company that authenticated it. Signed baseballs sold by trusted dealers and authenticators will sell at the higher price range. I'm not familiar with the signed bobble head that you have. I don't know if it is signed directly on the piece or displayed on a piece of paper but either way it spells trouble for the value, if the bobble head was to fall or and break. Collectors will tend to shy away from spending big money on an autograph that is this fragile. If the signature is signed directly on the bobble head and it breaks the value of the signature is lost. If it is signed on a piece of paper and the bobble head breaks the signature could be saved but valued as a "cut signature" it will only have 10 - 20 percent the value of a signed baseball. ($30.-$100. at best) With all that said your signed Derek Jeter bobble head is probably worth around what you paid for it $300. more or less. Yes there is only 100 made but if you put it up for auction you would have to hope that a number of collectors are very interested, and then it is possible to get more for it. Also consider that although your SAMS bobble head is limited to 100 signed there are other bobble heads made by other companies that have been signed that might be as or more desired. I have seen others that sell in the $300. price range.
