It depends on what races you are doing. If you are a sprinter you should build muscle especially in the core and legs and arms. But mainly you must run everyother day and don't forget to stretch, stretch, stretch. Try running downhill first so your legs can get used to moving quickly. Also don't forget to keep good form by swiping your sides slighty with your arms
