Better conference record
Yes, the conference record determines the conference standing of a team regardless of their over-all records.
For playoff purposes. The team in a conference with the best overall record is the No. 1. A playoff team with the weakest overall conference record is the No. 6 seed.
There is no required win-lose record to get in the playoffs. The team with the best overall record in the division goes on to the playoffs. If there are teams that are tied with the best overall record there will be a tie breaker which is the best in division record. EX: Team Overall record Division Record New York Giants 9-7 3-3 Dallas Cowboys 8-8 2-4 Philadelphia Eagles 8-8 5-1 Washington Redskins 5-11 2-4
The Dolphins lead the overall series 50-45 (1-2 in the playoffs).
Obviously not! The bears actually made the playoffs in the 2010-2011 season. The bears not only made the playoffs but actually made the conference finals (super bowl semis). Although the Giants beat the bears recently...and sacked him 9 times...the bears still trump the Giants in terms of long-term historical context with a better overall record. The giants are full of B.S. and the bears score way more T.D.'s overall. There you have it!
The Saints 2006 regular season record was 10-6. They made the playoffs, defeated the Eagles in the first round and then lost to the Bears in the NFC conference championship game for an overall record of 11-7.
The Cleveland Cavaliers had the best record of 66-16 in the league in 2008-09 NBA season, But in the Playoffs, team was eliminated by the Orlando in the eastern conference finals..!!
