NO IT IS NOT UNCOMMON It's not uncommon because now the most popular drivers belong to a team of drivers so if one driver is doing bad, most people root for other drivers on his team. especially if their favorite driver own the car. yeah i remember when Casey Mears won at the Coca Cola 600 last year and my driver was Harvick and harvick wasnt doin to well and JJ yeley was in 2nd, and i was rootin for Yeley or Mears to win, but now im a Jimmie Johnson fan but yeah i cheer for drivers who deserve a win, even when my driver is up front with the 1 whos trying to win, at Phoenix this year, Mark Martin was leading with like 15 laps to go and i really wanted him to win, even tho my driver won i wish mark would of won. since he didnt win the 07 Daytona 500.
Heck no ... as a fan of one particular driver, it is your given right to cheer for whomever you choose. Answer: I root for my number one driver, BUT if they wreck out, or just suck that day, I will root for others. :D
