Well, Bill Tilden was 37 at his last Wimbledon title in 1930: he finally went professional from there and won his last "major" pro title at Wembley at 45 years old! So there's a good starter ;)

The last English lady to win the European table tennis championship title was Jill Hammersley (now Mrs Jill Hammersley-Parker). Jill won in 1976 when the tournament was held in Prague (Czechoslovakia). Jill was also runner-up in the next European Championship in 1978, and runner-up again in 1982. Lisa Lomas was the last English lady to reach the final (1992), losing to Bettine Vriesekoop of the Netherlands.
