both the American League and National League have these awards:
MVP (Most Valuable Player): usually if not always given to the best hitter in each league, but there have been a few instances where a starting pitcher has won it, and i think 2 closers have won it too.
Cy Young: given to the best pitcher in each league, normally starting pitchers, but closers have won it a few times before.
The Reliever of the Year: has always been given to the best closer in each league, but I'm sure a normal reliever could win it if he somehow does better than all the closer in his league, and the normal closer on his team
The Rookie of the Year: given to the best rookie in each league, pitchers or position players can win it, and to be considered a rookie, you have to have played less than 50 games or have less than 200 at-bats as a hitter, or for a pitcher, less than 10 starts or 20 games pitched i think
The Silver Slugger Award: given to one player at every position in both leagues who has the highest Batting Average, and in the American League, one is given to the best hitting Designated Hitter, and in the National League, one is given to the best hitting pitcher
The Gold Glove Award: and award given to one player at every position, (including one pitcher) from each league, normally won by someone with the highest fielding percentage, meaning someone who has the least amount of errors at the end of the season
that's about all that i know of
