When Wilma was a child she was very tiny and sickly,before wilma turned five she got sicker than ever…during this sickness Wilma left leg twisted inward & she couldn't move it bak……when the doctor came to see her he said beside scarlet fever Wilma was stricken with polio ( in those days most children who got polio either died or were permenantly cripple,there was no cure) But at last Wilma over came her polio by doing leg excercises & she could finally get off her brace and be a normal person……Wilma grew up to be a famous runner….she Achived 3 gold medals in the Olympics (track and field games) when she was representing the United states.
