In 1783 two French brothers called Joseph and Etienne Montgolfier designed the hot air balloon. They were paper manufacturers from Annonay, France. The Montgolfier Brothers first flew their unnmanned balloon, the first ever, after watching a paper bag fly away after being thrown into a fire. The first carried several different animals, and was capable of flight. This eventually led to manned variants.
the Montgolfier brothers were 2 french brothers called "Etienne and Michel Montgolfier" later in their life they tried very hard to create the "hot air balloon"! It took so many tries they almost gave up but eventually they made it and after experimenting for a year and a half they had invented the hot air balloon! (Probably not true!)
Hot air balloons were invented by the Montgolfier brothers in 1745-1799.The first hot air balloon Joseph-Michel and Jacques-Etienne Montgolfier made was in France. In 1783, by the Montgolfier brothers. The modern type hot air balloon was developed by Ed Yost in 1955 and he made the first free flight in Nebraska in 1960.
