The earliest mention is in 1930 he was a pitcher for the Oakland Oaks. He apparently played there until 1933 -then the Cubs for 2 years. At some point he was purchased by the NY Giants. He played for their farm team in 1939, the Jersey Giants,and he did great - they made it to the championship game. He played for the NY Giants in 1940.
