If the land is completely surrounded by water, (on all sides) it is called an island. If the land is surrounded by water on only three sides, (left, right, and bottom) it is called a peninsula. One example of a peninsula is florida, and an example of an island is hawaii.
A triangle which has no two sides congruent is called a Scalene Triangle.
A point that two sides of a polygon have in common is called a vertex. Each regular polygon has an equal number of sides as vertices.
