GTA vice city is older than vice city stories,both have their own story and vice city stories you can swim and there is more vehicles and such.(and newer) Dont buy the ps2 version of vice city stories, if you have a psp get vice city stories for it.
in my opinion vice city is ten times better but its up to you which you like more
Also Vice city stories story line happened 2 years earlier than vice city, it happened in 1984 and vice city happened 1986
