You have to know what kind of rock you are climbing, if there are hangers and other differences. Once you know that, you can figure out what type of bolt you will need. There is a website that tells what bolts are best for what type of climbing and also recommends certain brands. The website is: http://www.safercliffs.org/code/bolt_guide.html. The brands that show up most often are Ramset, Powers and Fixie. Ramset appears to be made in Australia, so it might be easier to find the other two brands if you live in North America.
There is a tool called a bolt remover that can be used to get the bole out. A hole is drilled in the middle of the bolt then the tool is inserted and turned to back the bolt out.
I believe 5x4&1/2. To measure it measure from the middle of the first bolt to the middle of the third bolt. the 5 stands for number of bolts the 4&1/2 stands for inch between lug bolts.
The tensioner bolt for a 96 Cavalier is in the pulley for the tensioner. The tensioner is in the middle of the front of the engine.
On a five bolt pattern measure from outer edge of one bolt then across to the middle of another skipping one bolt hole( not quite the diameter). On six or four bolt patterns measure across from bolt center to bolt center as you would the diameter if it were a circle.

It is underneath the bottom fairing. It has a circular cover with a bolt in the middle with a diameter of about 3 inches. Loosen the bolt and pull down the cover, the filter will come out with the bolt.
