The team of Macs

All thirteen first team players of the inaugural 1892 season had been signed from Scottish clubs, with eight of them having a 'Mc' prefix to their names.

The first game of the season was a 7-1 victory against Rotherham Town, with Malcolm McVean scoring the first ever goal for Liverpool FC.

In a precedent to be later repeated in the Premiership years, this was the first ever English domestic team to be comprised of entirely non-English players.
