Although mixed Martial Arts started as a physical and intellectual pass time, it has grown so greatly that professional tournaments have been made. It has grown and when something grows there is more money and more demand therefore people can make a career. 1980 was a big jump in the start of MMA careers

Do most MMA fighters do wrestling before?

Yes, most good MMA fighters either wrestled in high school or college or both before they start MMA. It is not a requirement, but I would HIGHLY recommend wrestling because it is a good way to start and teaches you basic take downs and teaches you how to control your opponent, which can be very helpful in MMA.
