The major league record is American League ultimate star, Ty Cobb. The former Tiger and Athletic hit .367 with an AL record today 4,191 hits in just 11,429 at-bats, though 5th all-time on the record list.

The National League record is NL also- megastar Rogers Hornsby, standing at .358. He didn't have 3,000 hits though. He is also an incredible all-around hitter, like Cobb.
