Since the start of the 2009 season, Paul Olden has been the Yankees PA announcer. Bob Sheppard who announced for the Yankees from 1951-2007, officially retired on November 27, 2009, he died on July 11, 2010.
Jim Hall filled in for Sheppard in 2008. Bob Sheppard had his voice recorded just for Derek Jeter's at-bats, per Derek's request in 2006 and now he will have Sheppard announce him for the rest of his career at Yankee Stadium.
