### Why do you need an odd number of points to win a volleyball?

It is not true that an odd number of points is requred to win a
volleyball set. TO WIN A SET A set (except the deciding, 5th set)
is won by the team which first scores 25 points with a minimum lead
of two points. In the case of a 24-24 tie, play is continued until
a two-point lead is achieved (26-24; 27-25; …). TO WIN THE MATCH
The match is won by the team that wins three sets. In the case of a
2-2 tie, the deciding set (the 5th) is played to 15 points with a

###### Asked in Math and Arithmetic

### Can 5 odd numbers that if you add them make 32?

No.
The sum of two odd numbers or two even numbers is an even
number.
The sum of an even number and an odd number is an odd
number.
The sum of 5 odd numbers is:
((odd + odd) + (odd + odd)) + odd = (even + even) + odd
= even + odd
= odd
But 32 is an even number, therefore it cannot be the sum of 5
odd numbers.

### Why is and odd number minus an even number odd?

Because the second number from an odd number is odd, and every
other number is an odd number. In fact, if you add or subtract an
even number with any number, the result keeps the same parity as
the other number. So an odd number minus an even number is odd,
while an even number minus and even number is even.
