Baxter the Bobcat
Baxter the Bobcat was introduced as the Diamondbacks mascot on June 23, 2000 after Brantley Bell (son of former D-Back Jay Bell) explained to his dad that the team needed a BOB cat as a mascot since the team played in the Bank One Ballpark. After Bell told management of his son's idea, Baxter was born.
