Interstate 270 is a designated emergency air landing strip, making it the largest in Maryland.

"Port of landing" refers to the specific port or harbor where a ship or vessel arrives or docks. It is the final destination for a particular voyage or journey by sea.

Any operation can be designated with a number or letter to indicate the commencement of an operation. The particular June 6, 1944 invasion was simply a massive invasion of allied forces upon a designated landing area. From which point they would commence inward movements towards their assigned objective(s).

The D-Day Landing was on 6 June 1944.

It may be useful to note that every Allied amphibious landing had a D-Day assigned to it, and a H-hour. D-Day was the designated day of the invasion and H-Hour was the time at which it was to start. It was only after World War 2 that the term D-Day became attached only to the invasion of Normandy.
