Yunnan is a province in the southwest of China, bordering Burma, Laos, and Vietnam. Yunnan province has a diverse mountainous topography. In the U.S., it is best known for being a tea-producing region; Yunnan province is the origin of Pu-erh tea, as well as such styles of tea as Dian Hong, Yunnan Gold, and Moonlight White, among many others, including green teas as well.
Yunnan province also has a fascinating food culture which is considered rather bizarre by American standards, its food can be quite spicy and alien to westerners.
