Mindful eating involves thinking about what you eat before you eat it: and savoring each bite of food rather than eating it quickly without enjoyment. To achieve a healthy weight, one must contemplate healthier choices. For example, rather than choosing a candy bar and a soft drink as a between meal snack during the workday, the mindful eater thinks about whether that choice has any real health benefits. If the answer is "no," a mindful eater might choose an apple and a cup of cold water. The latter choice is fat free, offers vitamins and fiber, as well as hydration.
