There are 3 strategies used to correct imbalance...

1) Ankle strategy - uses distal muscle first gastrox/hamstrings/paraspinal for forward imbalances and anttib/quad/abdominals for backward imbalances. Used for small imbalances, mostly front to back. The base of support (feet) does not change.

2) Hip strategy - Uses muscles about the hip first to adjust balance. Used for moderate imbalances, mostly front to back. The base of support (feet) does not change.

3) Stepping strategy - Movement of the feet to maintain balance. The base of support is changed. Used for large imbalances.
