Science Diet pet food is part of the Hill's Pet Nutrition family. In the 1928, Dr. Mark L. Morris established an animal hospital in New Jersey. Over the years, he began to understand the connection between pet nutrition and overall pet health. The first pet food formula created by the organization was in the late 1930's, but the Science Diet brand was established in 1968.
