The car owner, and the driver usually have a percentage deal, let's say, 50-50 split. The prize money from the race is split that way between the owner/driver. The sponser/sponsers, pick up the tab for the race, tires, fuel, transportation expenses, ect. The team owner pays to build the cars, and usually owns them. A LOT of parts come in free from automotive sponsers. Say, I think Chevy pretty much would give Herndrick a motor, with a ton of research done on it, which has a value that cannot be set. Sponsor buys tires, and fuel still, I think, say, for example NAPA. They're cool. I think they probably give Michael Waltrip racing all the parts that will interchange. Maybe filters, oil, bulk wire, ect. Last figures I personally heard were, $100,000 per motor, and, around $200,000-$225,000, turn key, race ready. I heard that Hendrick still has a rental program going, though. That would be your best bet, with a sponsor.
Cumulatively some $20 million plus.
Good Question! All fines are collected by Nascar, put into a penalties fund! At the conclusion of the season. The money is then divided up into equal portions, and given back to all owners, that raced in the season.
Each driver and team is different, it depends on the sponsers, car owners, drivers, and merchandisers.
NASCAR crew members are paid by the team they work for. For example, Tony Stewart is the owner of Stewart Haas and he will pay everyone in the crews of his four car team.
No it is not. A Thrust SSC car is a jet propelled car. A Nascar car is a stock car used for auto racing.
The purpose of car sponsorships in NASCAR is to gain more attraction and fans. In addition, the purpose of car sponsorships in NASCAR is to gain more support for race car sports.
Try doing what Carl Edwards did. Make up some business cards and pass them out to car owners at races.
They can't. You have to have lots of money to get in to NASCAR car.
If you wreck your car, then it is usually the insurance that pays for you ;)
None of it. NASCAR sponsors don't make cars.
No. Lowe's does not own a car in the Nascar series, but they are the primary sponsor for Jimmie Johnson's #48 car.
Currently, there is no Applebee's car being driven in the Nascar Nationwide Series.
