To begin with, you cannot simply substitute whole wheat flour for regular white flour in a recipe because it won't work. Many people think the two flours are interchangable, but they are not. Below is a recipe from Regal for 100% whole wheat bread. Check to make sure that your recipe matches up: REGAL 100% WHOLE WHEAT BREAD, Source: Regal K6743 Bread Machine Manual, Setting 7, Timer OK, FOR A 1 1/2 POUND LOAF: 9 to 11 ounces water, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1 1/2 tablespoons honey, 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses, 3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 tablespoon vital gluten (Very Important), 2 teaspoons active dry yeast (Also Very Important). Press Stop to clear display. Press Select until 7 appears on the display for Whole Wheat setting. Press Start. When unit signals and the display reads 0:00 press Stop and remove the bread.
