IAC (idle air control) valve may be bad. Located on the passenger side of the throttle body.
Check the Idle Air control valve. This lets air bypass the throttle body plate when the car is at idle or low revs.
you need the fast idle adjusted on the engine you may have idle set where it sounds fine in idle but not high enuff when dropped in gear.
main cause of fast idle problem in maruti alto
It is very likely there is no way to adjust the idle on your car. If your car is idling low, it's probably a problem somewhere else. Idle is likely controlled by the computer.
YOU CAN'T. It is not adjustable and is NOT to be tampered with. VERY important to leave it alone. You have another problem with the engine sensors if it is idleing to fast are to slow. Is the check engine light on ? If it is you need to have the engine SCANNED with an engine scanner.Check for vacuum leak that will cause it to idle to fast. TPS/ Throttle position sensor may be bad too.
the highest MPG for a Chevy is 34.1 it is very low but it can still go very fast for a old car.....
It is very possible that the throttle plate is dirty and causing the throttle to hang up.
Check the power to your automatic choke and check the choke pulloffs. It sounds as if the fast idle cam is not coming all the way off.
Hey you need lift the engine up and underneath the engine and there wil be a cap it says idle you want to pull that off and turn the screw with a screw driver i had one of these very good vehicle. hope this helps
buy a new one
very very very very very fast fast fast
there is a idle screw you can adjust on the throttle linkage under the hood. very simple. have someone push the gas so you can see where the linkage comes to a rest and you should see a screw. turn it counter clockwise to idle it down. and vice versa. very easy
