you do not say if your engine is gas or diesel. A gas engine has many sensors, any one of which could cause a problem, not to mention a borken catalitic converter, which could also have many causes.
I have not found any reasons for a diesel to experience this problem.
I think, that to correctly answer this question, you need to give a more detailed question.
A plugged fuel filter, A plugged catalytic converter,
Your piston rings are probably bad. Which will cause compression loss, in effect you will loss power, and it will let oil trough and saturate your plugs.
Re-build your diesel. Put on a custom chip and that will make up for engine power loss.
If the check engine light is on then have it scanned for codes. I could guess you into bankruptsy. It is cheaper to have it scanned and repaired.
What does reduce engine power means?
Yes
Oil leakage and loss of compression and power loss.
* No power steering fluid in reservoir * The power steering pump is not operating
It sounds like a power loss......... tune-up, get tranny checked out
Loss of power, white smoke out the tail pipe, and under extreme cases engine knock. By then it's probably too late.
My idle was running rough and slight loss of power (5 cylinder engine). The power loss is more noticeable on cars with less cylinders.
clogged cat
