No, 89-95 are the same, the 96 and later are different.
The throttle position sensor, otherwise known as a TPS, is located directly across the otherside/opposite side of the throttle body where the gas pedal cable connects to the throttlebody. They usually have 3 wires and are round black plastic items.
No such thing as a "fuel trim sensor". Where did you come up with that? Fuel trim is a computer adjustment based on O2, MAF, ECT, TPS and other sensors.
check for the 4 thing you need for a engine to start, fuel, spark, air and compression. if any of these are not present then trace back the components to see what is broke.
To remove the throttle position sensor: 1. Unplug the electrical harness. 2. Remove the bolt that holds the tps in place. 3. Remove the tps. To install a new tps reverse the removal procedure. There is no adjustment given.
next to the tps
no it in set by cars computer should be around 640 rpms
TPS is located on the TBI unit (front right)and cannot be replaced. you have to replace the entire TBI
The throttle position sensor is not adjustable.
9 times in 10 it's the result of a vacuum leak. It could be the TPS out of adjustment though.
tps out of adjustment. Must be adjusted using a voltmeter. Basic idle set screw ( BISS) out of adjustment. Ignition timing incorrect. vacuum leak. good luck
I had the same problem with my 02. had to replace the EGR Valve.
