2000 Chevy Impala ignition switch?
I've had to replace mines twice this year for varies reasons on my 02. what's your question?
What do I do when my 2000 Chevy Malibu is in park and I can't turn my key to the off position and the key still comes out of the ignition switch?

Just had to have my 2000 Impala's Key cyilinder switch replaced. My mechanic explained to me that the electrical Ignition switch is directly behind the key cylinder.
Where could you find a diagram for repairing ignition switch on 2000 Chevy Impala with 34 LT engine that remote was lost causing it to lockup?

If your key can go in and turn to the "acessories" or "on" position, then it can de replaced rather easily. If your key can't turn at all or won't go in,(lock set) it…
I just had the tranny rebuilt in my 2000 Impala. When the mechanic was taking it apart, he showed me the neutral safety switch and it is inside the transmission. I think he told me that was the case for the 2000 and the 2001 Impala's. In that case the transmission has to come out in order to change the neutral safety switch.
