its not an alarm. its called a programmable horn chirp. made to indicate locking has occurred and for safety when you approach you car in a dark area. you can deactivate it by holding the lock switch in the unlock position for 10 seconds with the ignition in the ON position and all the doors closed. to reactivate repeat procedure
if no leaks or problems, they recommend every 60< thousand miles.
Try unlocking the tailgate with the key first. This should disarm the alarm.
every 3000 miles filter and oil needs changed. but if you think sooner thats fine.
you need a new battery usally every ten years there is probably a warranty on it chech it out
I have a 1999 Chev Surburban. Yesterday I changed the battery and now every time I open one of the doors the theft alarm goes off. I've tried disconnecting the battery. locking all of the doors and opening them with a key. Nothing has worked yet. Anybody know the secret? thanks Ira
You just change the fuel filter at a regular scheduled interval. I recommend every 50,000 miles.
I'm have the same issue, did you every get it worked out? Ken
yes i have a 2003 and every 10,000 miles they are totally warped and i have heard that they have the same problems on other Malibu
I do it ever 3 months, just the air, fuel, and oil filter. also change the oil at least every 3000 miles.
There are some alarm clocks on the market that will go off every hour if they are set correctly. There are also alarm apps for smartphones and tablets that can go off every hour or even less.
Recommended at 3,000 miles but your car can easily surpass 5,000 in most conditions. My 1999 Malibu is changed every 4500-5000 miles on name-brand filters and oil. No problems with good maintenance at 202,000 miles.
There is not a fuse that you can pull. If you are asking because you only have a valet key and your alarm is active (goes off for ~30 seconds every time you start the car), try opening the trunk, or trunk then driver door then unlocking all doors, then start the car again. The trunk lock has a switch that disables the alarm when it is opened with the key.
