I have a 2000 Cavalier that did the same thing with the DRL, and only one of the lights worked when I put on the headlights manually. Ended up being a burnt-out bulb that I had to replace. No wiring necessary.
theres a short somewhere most likely bad ground
The ground ciruit for the headlights is by way of the headlight switch , the lights always have power
i was driving in the rain last night my headlights and wipers quit working and i stop the car for 15 minutes and they starting working again and they are still working what could have cause this my car is 2002 cavalier
Could be a linkage problem..
There could be a problem with the power of common ground to the Cavalier light and sun roof. Check the fuses and wiring for the problem.
Check your owners manual to see how to fix your headlights. If you do not see an answer you could check with your local dealer.
i was wondering whether the switch at the parking brake could affect this problem.
Loose electrical connection. Could be in the wiring, ground, or switch.
anti theft system is bad
It is possible that both of the fuses are bad for the low beam headlights and the cruise control. A loose ground wire could cause the fuses to blow.
There is an over-current condition in the tail light circuit. It could be a short to ground or a bad bulb.
bad ground or wire connection somewhere could be shorted too or bad headlight if its immediate would say wiring trydisconecting plugs from headlights and see what happens
