There's only one way to cause acceleration . . . make sure that all the forces

on an object don't add up to zero.

There are three different effects that all qualify as acceleration:

1). An object moves faster.

2). An object moves slower.

3). A moving object changes its direction, even if its speed doesn't change.

acceleration means change in velocity. Velocity changes when you...

  • speed up
  • slow down
  • change direction

What are the three ways in which a vehicles direction can be controlled?

By steering, braking, and accelerating.

When is an object not accelerating?

An object is not accelerating when it is moving in a straight line at an unchanging speed (which may be zero).

An object that is accelerating may be?

An object that is accelerating may be slowing down, gaining speed, and changing direction.

What is an example of an accelerating object but moves in a constant speed?

An accelerating object is one that is changing in either speed or direction. Thus any object that is turning is accelerating while maintaining a constant speed.

Which can occur when an object is accelerating?

The object's velocityi will change.

If final velocity is greater than initial velocity an object is?

Accelerating...or was accelerating.

When forces do not balance the object will be?

Accelerating

What type of changes in motion might an object experience if it were accelerating?

An object that is accelerating may slow down, speed up, or change direction.

If the force acting upon an object are balanced then the object Amust not be moving Bmust be miving with constant velocity Cmust not be accelerating Dnone of these?

If the force acting upon an object are balanced then the object must not be accelerating

An object cannot be accelerating if it has a constant speedtrue or false?

An object with a constant (vector)velocity is not accelerating. An object with a constand (scalar)speed can actually be accelerating, a car with a constant speed that passes around a corner is changing direction and is subjected to a lateral acceleration.

What is the indication that a moving object is accelerating?

moving

When an object slows down it has no acceleration?

When an object slows down it is still accelerating.
