A 69 Shelby GT-350 came with a 4bbl 351. The 69 GT-500s came with a 428. There weren't any Shelbys that came with a 429. The market on these cars is extremely volatile right now, and has been for a few years. The prices shot through the roof for a while, but now they are falling back down near where they should be. Some of the GT-500s were bringing crazy amounts of money for a while. Particularly crazy when you consider what else you could get in that price range. Right now, a really nice GT-350 would bring something in the 70K range.
it can be, but Ford made the 429 in 1968-73. There was the standard 429, Cobra Jet, and the Boss 429 built in 1969-70. Most parts are not interchangeable. The Ford engine was not a bored 400.

The 1970 Ford 429 Torino Cobra is powered by a 429 cubic inch V8 engine, known for its high performance and muscle car appeal, while the 1971 Cobra features a slightly different design and engine options, including a focus on emissions control. The 1971 model also saw changes in styling, with a more rounded appearance compared to the sharper lines of the 1970 version. Additionally, the 1971 Cobra had a reduced horsepower output due to stricter emissions regulations. Overall, these differences reflect the evolution of muscle cars in response to changing automotive standards during that period.

Sorry, all Cobras ( 60's and early 70's ) had the 427 Cobre Jet engine, and it all started in 1968 427's were dohc motors ,, 428 .428,Cobra Jet , were dif ,,429 , 429 Boss , then there was 302 , 302 Boss in 69
The 429-4V was available in three different versions. The first was the 429 Thunder Jet, the standard engine for the Cobra, rated at 360 hp (270 kW). Next was the 429 CJ (Cobra Jet), rated at 370 hp (280 kW), which included a 2-bolt main block, hydraulic lifters, a 700 CFM Rochester Quadrajet carburetor. and was available with or without Ram Air. The top 429 option was the 429 SCJ (Super Cobra Jet), rated a 375 hp (280 kW), and was part of the "Drag Pack" option. These engines were underrated for insurance purposes, and made around 420 -440 h.p. How many were installed in the convertible I do not know. Not sure how many 4 speeds, but I know there was 125 automatic 429 Thunder Jet 1970 Ford Torino GT convertibles made. I also know there there were a total of 19 automatic, and 4 speed 429 super cobra jet torino convertibles made in 1970, some ram air, some non-ram air. There are a total of 7 accounted for today in SCJ for 70'. There were no super cobra jets offered in a torino in 1971. Hope that helps a little.
The Thunder Jet was the standard engine in the Cobra. There were 7,675 Cobras made in 1970. I cannot find a breakdown on how man came with the standard Thunder Jet engine and how many came with the Cobra Jet & Super Cobra Jet engines.
55% of 429 = 55% * 429 = 0.55 * 429 = 235.95
35% of 429 = 35% * 429 = 0.35 * 429 = 150.15
429
5.2 percent sales tax means you multiply by 0.052. So 429 * 0.052 = 22.308, which rounds to 22.31 (nearest cent), and the total price is 429 + 22.31 = 451.31
The Ford 429 engine, particularly the high-performance versions like the 429 Cobra Jet, is rated at around 360 to 375 horsepower, depending on the specific variant and model year. However, actual horsepower can vary based on factors such as tuning, modifications, and the engine's condition. In some performance applications, enthusiasts have reported higher figures, but the official ratings from Ford remain within that range.
