if all the sudden could be an old Inertia Switch. This is a fuel cut off switch. Broke down wiring to or from it or something triggered it off. Think there is also a low oil pressure fuel shut of switch. You might have low oil pressure or a bad switch.
If it is a gas engine, it is located in the fuel tank.
