The first thing that you need to check will be to make sure that you are depressing the service port schrader valves and if you are then you either have a bad compressor, a restricted system or the system is overcharged................
It costs about $120 to pump down and recharge the freon in an A/C.
What is the air conditioner layout in a 1999 ford escort?"
Its the smaller one back by the fire wall, right above the condenser
It comes off the accumulator/drier and looks like a air pressure valve only about 2 times bigger.
the a/c has not worked and i don't care for it to work, i just want the car to run a few more months.
Connect freon and a gauge to the low side ac port. Fill the system to full on the gauge, with the engine running, and the ac on high.
It sounds like you are low on refridgerant, i would have your A/C lines inspected, and maybe try to recharge it, could also be a bad A/C pump.
No
With a can of freon
The air conditioning recharge valve on the 2003 Ford Explorer 4.6 is located on the low pressure side of the air conditioning system. Located on the line coming from the accumulator to the compressor is the recharge valve.
Could be anything from needing a simple recharge to a bad compressor. Take it to a service shop (any side shop should be able to help you)
The 2002 Ford Escort zx2 does have an air intake air temperature sensor. The sensor is at the top of the engine on the drivers side.
