What is the difference between Ibuprofen and vicodin?

Vicoden is an opiate, like heroin but at a lesser degree. It
works by flooding the opioid receptors in your brain which causes a
euphoric, pain free sensation. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by limiting the amount of
cyclooxygenase (COX-2) your body produces, which relieves swelling
and pain.

What do Percocets and salsalate have in common?

Percocets are a combination drug containing oxycodone (a
narcotic pain reliever) and acetaminophen (an NSAID, non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory drug). Acetaminophen is generic Tylenol.
Salsalate is an NSAID. It decreases inflammation and relieves pain.
It is not a narcotic, thus it is not addictive, is milder, and is
used for different types of pain than Percocet. Salsalate has
different chemical properties than Percocet and affects different
neurotransmitters. Angie RN

Is amitriptyline an opiate?

No, amitriptyline is not an opiate. It is a tricyclic
antidepressant that, these days, is more often used as an
adjunctive (helper) treatment in pain management. It appears to
reduce problems with chronic pain and neuropathic pain, and may be
helpful in sleep. However, it is not an opiate, and is not a drug
screened during routine pre-employment or legal drug tests.
