The temperature of the air causes the spring in an outdoor thermometer to retract or contract. This motion displays the temperature on the dial.
a device used to display tempurature is a thermometer
A Calibration Knob is a device that allows you to optimise something; for example, a Temperature Knob, Temperature Oven, Safe, and a Lock
The use of a thermometer is to measure hot and cold in Fahrenheit and in Celsius. To measure body temperature, air temperature, atmosphere temperature. It is a scientific instrument to record temperature. It's used to measure temperature of various things. For examples- the human body , weather, liquids etc The word "thermometer" literally means to "measure heat". As such, variations of the device are used to measure the heat of numerous items, including, but not limited to, the body heat of a human or animal, or to ensure proper cooking temperatures, or to trigger a device, such as via an automobile radiator's thermostat, or even to measure the temperature of distant stars. I think you're talking about a heat engine or heat mover..

an oscilloscope
Input Device
It is both. You input a problem and it displays the answer.
A thermostat is the temperature controlling device
An output device, such as a monitor (screen), or a printer.
When i did I.T. we always described monitors as output device not an input device. as it can not send information to the pc it only displays.
A computer monitor is an output device because it doesn't send data back to the computer. It only receives data and displays it. A disk in the computer does send data back as well as displays it, so it is considered both an input and output device.
