Silver is the best conductor when not tarnished but it's expensive and tarnishes easily--and the tarnish has resistance. Gold is almost as good but it won't tarnish, so it's used in most military electronics. Copper is a good conductor that is inexpensive and readily available. Aluminum is a good conductor but is very reactive so don't use it if you don't have to.
