When you become a Christian, you do not 'prepare' for it. Therefore, there is nothing to be called except that you are still an unforgiven sinner because you have not repented yet. When you do repent and choose to give your life to God, then you are still a sinner, but now you are forgiven, aka a Christian. When you get saved, you Must be repentant.
You don't "prepare to become a Christian." If you believe in Jesus Christ, you are a Christian. If you don't, you're not.
You can, however, prepare to become a better Christian by reading The Bible, and praying more often to God.

You alone can not do this, it is the spirit of God that makes a person follow Christ. As a Christian it is your duty to be there to serve people and Christ. Perhaps something you do or say will help open a person to Christ's call.
A person who studies anything is called a student. Therefore a person who studies architecture is a student who wants to become an Architect.
To live as a true Christian affects a person's personality very much in a positive direction, I think people would call it living in Christ or following Christ.

Jehovah's Witnesses DO call themselves Christian. They acknowledge they are a Christian religion and are baptised in Christ's name. Most secular authorities recognise Jehovah's Witnesses as a Christian denomination.
