Best Answer

Oil and water.

When oil is placed in water the oil falls to the bottom and the water stays at the top because it is lighter.

Or,

Salt and sand. To seperate them:

If you take salt and put it through a funnel the salt dissolves into the water and the water evaporates leaving the salt on the bottom, and the sand on the top where it is too big to go through the funnel.
