If you think about it, killing another person or being in danger of being killed must leave memories that will alter any reasonable person. The key is the home/national environment to which the soldier returns - if your family/countrymen are appreciative and supportive of what you have done for them, the burden in shared and hopefully it is possible to accept and ajust to what you have experienced. However, if the home environment is not supportive and understanding this must leave the soldier feeling isolated and psychological disorders will result form this disconnect.
