There's no excuse at all but it happens a lot more than you would think. Children many times, once they are in their teens and older, very often betray one or both of their parents in some way. Sometimes, they get involved with the wrong people, take drugs, drink too much, and they get obnoxious. You have to stay strong and try to get them back on track as difficult as that may be. Too many times, parents give up and while you may feel like it much of the time, you need to do your best to get them steered back in the right direction. At some point, there is only so much you can do and the rest is up to them. They have to WANT to be better in order for any assistance to actually sink in to their minds. Tough love is many times in order and when you feel you are out of options, kick them out. They will get a reality check really quickly unless they are too far gone and in that case, it may take a little longer. Sometimes, they never get it. I went through it, got throught it somehow, and finally won the battle as exhausting as it was.
