Assume

Length of the train =x metre,speed be y metre/ sec

Time taken to cross the pole x/y sec

Time taken to cross the platform=length of train+length of platform/ speed of train

x/y=15 x=15y

x+100/y=25

15y+100=25y

10y=100

Y=10 metre/ sec

x=15y = 100

A 180 meter long train crosses a platform of equal length in 18 seconds what is the speed of the train?

After the nose of the train reaches the platform, it takes some number of seconds for thenose to reach the far end. At that time, the whole train is lined up with the whole platform.Then after that, it takes the same number of seconds again for the caboose to reach the far end,and the train to completely clear the platform.So the total time that there's some overlap between the train and platform is twice the timethe train takes to move the length of the platform, which is also the length of the train.Distance = (speed) x (time)180 meters = (speed) x (9 seconds)speed = (180/9) = 20 meters per second

If a train running at 72 km per hour crosses a coconut tree standing by the side of the track in 7 seconds the length of the train is?

its simple 72km/hr=72000m and 1hr=3600s........so train travelling per sec=72000/3600=20m........thus train travelling in 7s=140m which is answer :)

A train 108 m long moving at a speed of 50 kmph crosses a train 112 m long coming from the opposite?

A train of certain length travelling with a uniform speed of 36kmhr crosses a bridge of 600m in 80 secfind the length of the train?

200m. Here's the work:The speed of the train in meters per second is:(36km/hr)(1000m/km) / (3600s/hr) = 10 m/sIf it takes 80 seconds to cross, then the distance traveled in 80s at 10m/s is:(10m/s)(80s) = 800mNow, imagine this:The front end of the train travels 800 meters from the time it reaches the bridge until the back end is clear of the bridge. This means that the length of the train equals the distance traveled minus the length of the bridge.So:800m - 600m = 200mThe train is 200m long.

Can A 150 m long train crosses a bridge that is 850 m long in 100 seconds What is the total distance traveled by the train What is the speed of the train?

To totally cross the bridge the train must travel (850m + 150m) 1 km. 1 km in 100 seconds is 10 m/s roughly 20 mph, so the answer is yes, with ease.

A trin running at tha speed of 60 km hr crosses a pole in 9 seconds what is the length of train?

Km/hr to m/s = 5/18 Speed60 km/hr Cross pole in 9sec Length=speed*time Speed =60*5/18=50/3m/s 50/3*9=150 Length of the train =150

120 km/h = 120,000m/hr = 33.333 m/s Distance travelled in 50 seconds = 33.333 * 50 = 1666.666 metres Tunnel length = distance travelled - train length - 1666.666 - 135 = 1531.666metres
