If the A/C system has not been retrofitted for the use of R134A refrigerant, it need to be done. I believe a 2001 vehicle would be equipped with R134A. You can buy a quick charge kit at any auto parts store relatively cheap. Follow the instructions CAREFULLY. If you do it and the charge doesn't seem to last, you may need to aahve it checked over by a registered A/C shop.
Which do i hook to to charge the freon in a 2004 ford expedition
There is one valve that is used to add refrigrant. But you had better not add Freon. Freon is R12 and your vehicle's A/C system does not have Freon (R12) as a refrigrant. More than likely it uses R134a.
freon usually goes on your condinser there should be a place to add collant on your condinser which is a silver cylinder
