No in fact, air is a mixture of many different molecules.

The two most abudnant in air are nitrogen (about 78%) and oxygen (about 21%). Nitrogen and oxygen are elements, but in air they are almost always found as diatomic molecules, N2 and O2, respectively, where two atoms of each element are bound to each other.

Water vapor, argon, and carbon dioxide are the next most common compounds in air, but there are many others as well in very small amounts called "trace" amounts. The relative abundance of each gas depends a bit on local conditions (especially water vapor) and a bit on your vertical position in the atmosphere.

Some molecules in the air are very stable, such as N2, and others are very short lived, such as ozone.

no it has two types of atoms. This can be discovered from its name, no substances that have a double barreled name have one type of atom and its chemical name contains more than one element(CO2). It contains Carbon and oxygen no it has two types of atoms. Elements and atoms are related because elements contain only one type of atom.

What is the matter that is made up of only one kind of atom called?

If there is only one kind of atom involved, it is called an element. Elemental gold only has gold atoms, elemental oxygen only has oxygen atoms, etc. Pure water is not an element because oxygen and hydrogen atoms are involved.

Does cooper only contain one sort of atom?

if you are talking about 'copper'(which I think you are) than yes, it does. Every element contains only one type of atom in it, that's actually the definition of an atom.

What is matter called when it is made up of only one type of atom?

Then it is an element, such as carbon, copper, or lead. If there is more than on type of atom, then it is a compound, such as water (oxygen and hydrogen)

Does copper only contain one sort of atom?

Copper is an element. An element consists of one type of atom. If there is more than one type of atom it can be a mixture of elements, or it could be a compound or alloy, but not an element.
