The air molecules have mass. When a lot of molecues are piled up,one on top the other, the pressure increases because of that.So air pressure increases at lower altitudes.

Why is atmospheric pressure and water pressure different?

The big reason is because air is air, and water is water. The second reason is because air is compressible, while water cannot be compressed. What that means is that if you compress air to twice the pressure, it will be one-half the volume. If you compress water to be twice the pressure, the volume won't change.

How do magnets affect the flow rate of water?

It speeds it up the flow rate of water. But the reason why is because of when the magnetic forces attract and repel it increases the water pressure. The rate of moving water is determained by both air and water pressure. :) Doing an exiperiment and yes it does change in speed. (increases)

Why does the volume increase when the temperature increases?

Directly proportionalWell the reason is:as you usually know, when you increase volume, pressure should decrease.but in a case of constant pressure, as volume increases, well, pressure stays the same.So how does that work? The only reason pressure wouldn't change is if the temperature will increase, allowing molecules of gas to move more rapidly, and therefore creating pressure that stays constant, as the volume increases. (but if you would keep increasing temperature under constant volume, pressure would actually increase).

Which is the most likely reason why an aerosol can explodes when it is thrown into a fire?

Because it is under intense pressure.

Why is sometimes rainfall decreases when temperature increases?

The reason why sometimes rainfall decreases when the temperature increases is because the hotter temperature absorbs some of the rain water. This also makes for humid conditions.

Is there little or a lot of air pressure in air pressure in your home why?

At sea level there are 14.7 pounds per square inch of air pressure all around you everywhere you go. At higher altitudes there is less pressure because the air is thinner. The reason it is thinner is because air has the same amounts of oxygen, nitrogen and other gases at all altitudes but as you go higher it is spread over a greater area and continues to be spread over a larger area until it reaches space.

Why Pressure of automobiles try increases on a hot summer day give reason?

Because if you heat a gas (the air in the tyre) without letting it expand the pressure will rise.Read more: Why_does_pressure_in_tyres_increase_on_hot_days

Why a bicycle tube overfilled with air may burst?

Same reason as a balloon will burst when overinflated. As the pressure inside increases, the forces trying to rip the casing apart also increases. And eventually the tube/tire will burst.

What is the main reason for respiration?

The main reason for respiration is the difference between the pressure in lungs and out side the body. In order to maintain equal pressure in and out,we inhale. This increases the lung pressure,so again in order to maintain equal pressure we exhale! This is how respiration takes place.

Why do mountaniers usually suffer from nose bleeding at high altitudes?

At high altitudes, the atmospheric pressure is low, and as altitude increases pressure decreases. So if the pressure of atmosphere changes suddenly, the blood vessels on our body will burst due to pressure of the blood and other fluids inside.

How the temperature changes as you travel up through the atmosphere.?

The temperature in the atmosphere decreases as altitude increases. The reason for this is there is less warmth from the surface of the earth reaching the higher altitudes because there are fewer particles of the atmosphere to transfer the heat. The temperature begins to increase, however, around 100km in altitude because of the heat and radiation from the sun.

As a person dives toward the bottom of a swimming pool the pressure increases noticeably Does the buoyant force also increase Justify your answer Neglect any change in water density with depth?

The reason why things float is that gravity addresses only the mass regardless the volume. so when a person dives deep, although he moves away the same volume, the buoyant force increases because the pressure increases, and sice the pressure affects the body from every where the buoyant force increase.

How does tension affect your blood pressure?

Stress and tension can be contributing factors to high blood pressure.

Why would power steering only work when you press the gas?

Low fluid or low pressure for another reason which increases with rpm.
