- Due to unusual mating habits, California condors have a very low Birth Rate.
- Human interference in areas such as: lead poisoning (the eating of animals killed by lead bullets), poaching, egg collection, habitat destruction, hunting by farmers, and DDT poisoning.
- Fatal contacts with Golden Eagles, a more vicious bird of prey.
