They are first kept in small wire cages which they should not be kept in (I own 2 chinchillas) they are then grabbed by there tails and there necks are broken but they are still alive screaming and squirming around in pain they are thrown on the ground by people who just don't care about them. There are videos on YouTube that you can watch. Im sure there are other ways of doing it but I saw this done its very sad especially for the people who own them and know how affectionate they are they are very loving pets.
chinchillas are used for their soft fur.
Poachers turn them into coats. This is torture to them. NEVER EVER EVER do ANYTHING to a chinchillas fur.
While almost any animal with fur can be used to make outerwear, the most commonly farmed animals are minks and foxes. Lynxes, chinchillas, ermine, and badgers are also often used.
chinchillas have really soft fur and they have been killed 4 their fur to make chinchilla coats
no, chinchillas can not swim and if they do their fur will fall out or the will drown.
If a chinchilla is stressed out they will lose their fur.
I think that it is a half of an inch. :)
gray fur
yes.
chinchillas do not migrate because they have thick fur that allows the to adapt to the harsh winter weathers
Do you mean "Do Chinchillas Live in the Rainforest?".well if that is what you meant, then the answer is NO!Chinchillas can not get wet at all, due to the denseness of their fur, it will not dry, causeing the fur to get moldy, and rot off. Also, because their fur is so dense, they can't handle the heat very well, causeing them to have heat stroke. The answer to your question is a definite NO!
urinates on predator and loses fur when grabbed
