I'd say yes, but then perhaps it depends how you define Christians. They believe Jesus of Nazareth, who lived 2000 years ago in the Old World, was born of the Virgin Mary and that He is the Christ and the one and only Savior of all mankind, and that He is the only Way to true Happiness in this life and the next.

I think they would call themselves Christians. However for a person to be a true Christian you MUST believe that Jesus is both God and Man. Two natures in one person. This is very clear in the Bible. A person must believe that through faith in Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven.

To qualify as a Christian, you must believe in Jesus, that he is the son of God, and that he made the ultimate sacrifice and gave his life so that we may have the opportunity to repent, and be forgiven. Many people believe Jesus and his Father are ONE, I happen to believe they are always ONE in purpose But are separate beings. I think Both beliefs qualify you as a Christian. Thus, personal prayer and study are the only " MUST " in this situation.

More formally, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the LDS Church or the Mormon Church) is a Christian primitivist church. The LDS Church considers itself to be a restoration of the church founded by Jesus Christ.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) do consider themselves to be Christian, although they are careful not to categorize themselves as Protestant or Catholic Christians. Mormons call themselves "Restorationist Christians" because they believe that Christianity was restored to the earth by Jesus Christ to a modern prophet, rather than continued from the time of Christ or reformed from another sect or denomination.

Latter-day Saints believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God the Father, and that salvation comes through Christ alone. They believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God, and follow many of the same traditions as other Christians (baptism, communion, etc). However, unlike most other Christians, they do not believe in the Trinity. Mormons believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ are two individual beings united as one in purpose but not one in body. Jesus Christ lived as a mortal on the earth and is also a glorified and deified being (thus is both man and God). At baptism, Mormons covenant to spend their lives as examples of Christ and obey his teachings. Mormons believe that a Christian is defined as one who believes Christ is their Savior and who follows His teachings, and include all who fit these criteria as brothers and sisters in Christ no matter what their denominational affiliation.
